Inoculate your toilet tissue rolls by pouring grain spawn in the center of it.

Inoculate the Rolls

Now that your rolls have cooled down, it's time to add your oyster spawn.

Break Up the Oyster Grain

Shake the mason jar to break up the inoculated grain to make pouring easier. If the grain doesn't break apart easily, use something soft like a towel or bike tire to hit it against. Please ensure not to hit it too hard to avoid breaking the jar.

If you can't open the jar lid, spray a spoon with 70% alcohol, allow it to dry, then open the jar and break it up using the spoon.

Pour the Grain

Begin pouring the grain into your roll's center until you fill it. You can also rub the grains on the outside of the roll, but it's optional.

Put the aluminum foil and the roll inside a poly bag and close it with a rubber band.

Store the roll in a dark and warm area for incubation.
